Carroll Hall; Student Health Center dedicated to Elizabeth Delia Dixon-Carroll
-
Carroll Hall served as the student health and counseling center and was named to honor Dr. Elizabeth Delia Dixon-Carroll, the first female doctor to work at Meredith College. In March 2023, Carroll Hall was renamed as the Student Health & Wellness Center after an internal review conducted as part of the college's Anti-Racism Initiative. The President's Message announcing the change declared, "The decision acknowledges that Delia Dixon Carroll, the former staff member for whom the building is named, engaged in racist and harmful practices that outweighed her contributions to the college."
